This week’s Jewelry + Outfit Tour-of-the-Week should be called “Hot, But Happy.”

What an emotional week! Our daughter graduated High School! She is our oldest so I had no idea what to expect. The week was a flurry of activity and it had a lot of highs and lows. I say that full disclosure because so often we see pretty pictures and smiles and think everything must run smoothly in someone’s life when in reality we all know life has a lot of ups and downs. When you do see smiles in a photo, taking inspiration in wearing jewelry and planning your outfit ahead can set you up for success and help you be in the moment even when it is a stressful, busy, or even an emotional time. This is something that I struggled with in the past and have not always been consistent with and I can tell you, honestly, it can make a world of difference.

It was also hot! It was in the high 80s/90s here all week in Chicago. The temperatures just kept rising. I chose to wear a lot of “flowy” type outfits. It was a great opportunity to mix and match pieces from our June Collection, too. If you haven’t checked it out yet, there are pieces and styles for every taste and budget.

I hope you are inspired by my outfits and add some vintage jewelry to your look every day!Links to items are below and I hope you are excited to see and shop the June Collection, too.

If ever there was an example of life is not perfect: mirror smudges, goofy smile, running out the door, but guess what? I still felt good and like myself even on the go. A long necklace with a tee is always a great option to complete your look even on the busiest days.

Graduation Day is here! I had to switch to a “back-up” or “failsafe” outfit because it was 90 degrees on Saturday at 10:00 am! Lesson learned: have a few go-to outfits that you know always look nice in case the weather changes. I keep this outfit as my “backup” outfit for a couple of reasons. One being it’s neutral. I wanted my daughter to be the star of the show so I selected something that would not clash with her gown or her dress. This outfit can be dressed up and dressed down with the help of jewelry and accessories. I wore it to the ceremony with flats and a sunhat - it was very Audrey Hepburn. I added heels for our celebratory brunch. Sparkly rhinestone jewelry complimented the metallic thread in my skirt and popped against the simple black tank.

Here are some rhinestone favorites that never go out of style:

Outfit 5

Top:
Anthropologie
(5+ Seasons Old)

Pants:
J.Crew Linen Pants

Shoes:
J.Crew Cap Top Flats

I selected this outfit because of the colors. I was excited to see the way this “older blouse” I had from Anthropologie looked with so many pieces from our June Collection. I know a lot of women wear their hair up in the summer to stay cool so a tank-style blouse was a perfect option to show off the many different pairs of statement earrings in the June Collection. Real talk: the top and earrings were a hit and it’s amazing how you can change up your look with different types of earrings but the pants were a disaster. I love linen but this light-colored pair from J.Crew did nothing but wrinkle and in all the most unflattering places. I would not recommend them.

Overall this color and style was a sure winner when it came to earrings. It seems like every pair we have matched perfectly.

The whole June Collection is outstanding. Bracelets have been hot, hot, hot. This week’s lesson is that you can still be chic on the go even when the temps rise and that you can refresh looks and styles from past seasonswith vintage jewelry.

Thank you Shauna!

You always look lovely and we are honored whenever you add a touch of vintage to your look.

Fun fact: I met Shauna at an Anthropologie fashion show many years ago and I bought the skirt I wore for my daughter's graduation after the show!
